Every shiatsu treatment is an invitation to drop the armor of everyday life and relax on the deepest level. Bridget is gifted with the ability to create a healing space that totally embraces a client's mind, body and spirit. I always emerge from a session feeling nurtured, re-invigorated and with my energy rebalanced. As I have been receiving Bridget's treatments on a regular basis for more than ten years, I can attest to the cumulative benefits that undoubtedly occur. I consider shiatsu an integral part of maintaining a healthy life.

I had the pleasure of receiving Bridget's shiatsu treatments on a weekly basis last winter 2008 in Kyoto, Japan. I had a lot of backache, carpal tunnel syndrome and menopausal discomforts. Bridget's healing touch and non-invasive therapy allowed me to restore my body's balance and energy levels. I found her sessions to be gentle and relaxing, yet invigorating. I found the fully clothed treatments very calming and non-invasive. After three months I felt like a brand new person and felt on top of the world! Dorothy Kennedy
For me, my shiatsu treatments with Bridget are a time of luxury in my daily life. Actually, my grandfather was an acupuncturist and as a child I received his treatments. I know acupuncture works, but I couldn’t stand the extreme stimulation from the needles. So, in anticipation of the reaction, I just couldn’t relax. I have also received general massage, but I felt it didn’t reach the depth I was hoping for. When I first received Bridget’s treatment, I felt at last I had found what I was looking for. I can totally relax during the treatment and I can also sense that it is working at a deep level. Somehow, Bridget always finds the pressure point where I want to be pressed and gives exactly the right amount of stimulation. I’ve been receiving Bridget’s shiatsu on a regular basis for the last four years. My chronic symptoms of shoulder pain, headaches and backache have been greatly relieved and in some cases have totally disappeared. I hope more people can experience Bridget’s shiatsu so they can understand what I’m talking about.

I had heard that shiatsu hurt, so I was pleasantly surprised by my first treatment from Bridget. Her gentle and effective shiatsu really released the stress that had built up and revived me completely. I also got relief from female-related pain. And when my feet were sore and tired, although I tried a foot massage, it did not compare to the potency of shiatsu. For overall health, it was not just the treatment itself that I appreciated and enjoyed, I also loved going to see Bridget's glowing smile and spending a meditative hour in the small tatami hut surrounded by bamboo.

Impressed by an article on Bridget Scott in Kansai TimeOut in the winter of 2008, I called for an appointment. Suffering from chronic lower back pain for many years, I journeyed two hours door to door to see her returning multiple times over these past two years as the treatments always brought relief to the sometimes quite debilitating pain. Bridget is strong and gentle and always, always caring and empathetic...listening to me and exploring with her hands, her healer hands, as they touch, identify and probe the depth of what must be pain from very old injuries. She is also focused and attentive to the overall well being of my mind, body and emotional health. Lying on the mat in her converted tea house, surrounded by bamboo trees, with occasional sounds of the koto floating through the air, I was often transported to a place of peace and tranquility, healing to this wounded soul.

I don't know if you drive or own a car, but let's say you start the engine and there is an unusual "irr!"sound, or a jerk at random moments while it is running. Even if it has been like that ever since you got the car, you take it into the shop, get it checked out and adjusted. Afterwards, those little problems are gone and an anxiety is lifted while you are driving, because those little jerks and irr's were uncomfortable and precursors of a breakdown in the future. I feel like shiatsu is like this tune-up. Everyday we walk around with small discomforts on the muscular, organ, nervous, life-energy, whatever you believe level, that create anxiety in the present and harbor worse for the future. When I receive a shiatsu from Bridget, I feel muscles relax, guts doing their organ jobs, and energy (it feels like a warm bead) flowing through me. The whole experience is very relaxing and also makes me feel centered and "tuned-up" for the next day.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Bridget as a very gifted shiatsu practitioner. I think she has a particular combination of gentle strength and sensitivity that guide her to give very effective treatments. I received a treatment from her recently when she was able, without my telling her, to detect shock in my body from some kind of trauma. I had actually fallen down some stairs a month previously, and was still feeling the effects. Bridget’s style is very assured and also quietly intuitive, and I could relax totally and absorb the treatment while feeling confident that she was able to attune to my body’s particular needs. As a result of my one-off treatment I felt a heightened awareness throughout my body, as if I had had a total energy workout, and was much better in touch with my physical being. The next day I felt a little tired, but with a greatly increased sense of equilibrium restored. I’m sure further treatments would have increased benefits, but I was just passing through Kyoto. I think the shiatsu treated my acute problem – an aching neck – and also boosted my whole system, kicking my body’s self- healing mechanisms into action. Receiving shiatsu from Bridget in her beautiful studio in the eastern hills was definitely one of the high points of my recent visit to Kyoto.
